Harrison Ball, a former NYC Ballet principal dancer, discusses the history of dance and its hidden relevance to culture today. Mr. Ball will explore ballet history and how it informed and influenced his dancing. Additionally, Mr. Ball will discuss his ascension to one of the world’s most prestigious institutions, the psychology of being a professional dancer, the nuances of ballet performance, and how the lessons of dance vigor are completely transferable to any art form.

About Harrison Ball

Harrison Ball is an actor, choreographer, dancer, and filmmaker. Mr. Ball was formally trained in classical ballet at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet (NYCB) where he danced as a principal dancer for 13 years. Mr. Ball originated roles in ballets choreographed by Alexei Ratmansky, Justin Peck, Kyle Abraham, and many others as well as dancing a variety of principal roles by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, and Peter Martins.

Additionally, Mr. Ball has choreographed critically acclaimed ballets. His debut acting film was accepted into the Tribeca Film Festival where he costarred with Debbie Harry, Jemima Kirke, and Marc Gellar. Mr. Ball is developing numerous stage productions and is preparing for several future films.
