Description

This session is designed to teach students the art of emotional expression through movement and music.  We will incorporate Spanish, Mexican, and Indigenous movement as the fundamentals through which to express the emotions of the characters participants will create. We begin with an exploration of the range of emotions and movements of a character using the music from Dos Danzas Suite by Ernesto Halffter. As a focus and structure of the workshop, the instructors will identify four emotions to the students, guide them to physically express these emotions, and use the entire framework as the choreography of a final piece.

This workshop is part of the curriculum that Lady Zen and Jaime Coronado offer in 2-4 weeks sessions and recital through their studio and creative camp.
